[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-22 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably not.

[identity profile] ladyofmasbolle.livejournal.com 2005-10-23 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh. ^_^

Are you going to see them? \o/

[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-23 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. We worked with them. And saw them, too, but that's not the important part. The important part is that we frigging worked with them.

EEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] ladyofmasbolle.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
*gapes*

Describe. Now. In detail!

[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* Okay. Well. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. And Chanticleer is based in San Francisco. So, every year, they invite local choirs to come work with them, and my choir was invited this year. We sang two group songs–all six choirs plus Chanticleer which, I can tell you, was amazing–and each choir also performed songs of their own. As you've seen, we sang Elijah Rock; we also sang a Back Alleluja, and a U2 song: ever heard of MLK?

Anyways. So...two guys from Chanticleer worked with each choir individually, and oh, my, Gods. It was frigging amazing. I loved it so so so so so much...

And then there was a concert at night, where parents and other people came, and Chanticleer sang, and the choirs sang, and Chanticleer and the choirs sang, and just EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(If there's a recording that we can get, I'll try to get it and send it to you.)

[identity profile] ladyofmasbolle.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I think I've heard of MLK, I'll go download it. *nods*

Ooooh! Which guys did you have? Did they improve your toning, or sound, or teach you songs, or..?

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(*really, really, really wants recording*)

[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*nods* You do that. (And then send it to me, because I don't have it.)

Er...we had a guy named Ben, and a guy named Dan. And they improved our technicalities, mostly. Technique, staying in pitch for Elijah Rock...

SQUEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(*does, too*)

[identity profile] ladyofmasbolle.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
*glomps, squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees*

[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-23 10:40 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] writing-freak88.livejournal.com 2005-10-23 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)

*jaw drop*

Elijah Rock. Shout. Shout! Elijah Rock comin' up somethiiing.

[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
We-ell. We sang Elijah Rock in front of Chanticleer (and five other choirs, and an audience). Nearly brought down the house.

*grins*

Elijah Rock, Shout! Shout! Elijah Rock, Comin' up Lawdy...

If I could, I surely would stand on the rock where Moses stood...

[identity profile] ladyofmasbolle.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
OMGZ. Did someone tape/video it? Can you record it? EEEEEEEEE!

E-li-jah... E-li-i-jah...

Grammar Singers (Our Senior Choir) sang that at Eisteddfod. I think they got a 90 or something for it. *grin*

[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* I think someone recorded it, but I don't know if we can get the recording. I'll try.

(I'll definitely get a recording of the fall concert, which is on Sunday...*jitters*)

SHOUT!

(Guess who sings the high D?)

Mm. No idea what Eisteddfod is.

[identity profile] ladyofmasbolle.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
*waits for Runi to go to school, etc., come back and give Archee recording*

(*is tres excited, cannot wait*)

*grin*

(Oh, I see. How do you do it? Well, since our's is an All Girl choir (apart from like, one year 7er) -- all the guys are in the Senior Choir -- I'm in the alto part. *likes alto* I'm going through a phase where High parts are hard to sing for me..)

*an Eisteddfod.

It's a competition. Generally speaking, of course. We were in the Junior Secondary Choir section -- I think -- and we cleansweeped everything. *grin*

[identity profile] writing-freak88.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
excuse me?

we DID bring down the house.

[identity profile] firstlightofeos.livejournal.com 2005-10-24 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm. Well, it's still standing, isn't it? And we didn't get a standing ovation. So. We came close, but didn't bring it down.

[identity profile] writing-freak88.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
we did, missy. do you see a house with big letters saying ELIJAH ROCK WITH CHANTECLEER up any where?

it isn't, you see. because we brought it down.
